Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – On Saturday, June 14, the South Dakota Department of Transportation in conjunction with the City of Sioux Falls will open to traffic the south half of the Kiwanis Avenue and Russell Street intersection.
At the same time, the south half of the Western Avenue and Russell Street intersection will be closed to traffic. That intersection is anticipated to be closed for 30 days. Traffic will be directed to use Kiwanis Avenue, West Avenue and Madison Street during the closure. Two-way traffic will continue to be maintained from Westport Avenue to West Avenue on the westbound lanes of Russell Street.
The interim completion date for the eastbound lanes of Russell Street from Westport Avenue to West Avenue is Aug. 15, 2014. The overall completion date is Nov. 21, 2014. The project has an overall cost of $18.3 million and the prime contractor is T&R Contracting of Sioux Falls.
