SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - An intoxicated Sioux Falls man fired a handgun into the ceiling of his ex-girlfriend’s home on South Euclid last night.

Officer Sam Clemens says 24-year-old Richard Robert Jackson went to the attic to check on the damage.

Clemens says that’s when the 22-year-old woman hid that gun and a second one Jackson had in the house.  When he returned, Jackson allegedly made comnets that he was going to kill her but he couldn't find the guns.  He went outside for a cigarette and the woman called police.  Officers found him outside and he was arrested.

Clemens says Jackson is charged with domestic aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a handgun while intoxicated.

The woman was unharmed.  The couple’s daughter was sleeping in the home.
