Sioux Falls S.D. (KELO AM) - The rains have stopped for now, but with more on the way Sioux Falls remains on limited water usage.
"If you looked out yesterday and saw your gutters flowing overflowing their capacity, that is what it's like at the City Sewage Department," said Mark Cotter, Director of Public Works. "We need cooperation from residents of the city of Sioux Falls until the water receeds."
Cotter said a couple ways to immediately help:
Check your sump pump to make sure they are discharging outside the home and not down the sanitary system (Floor drains).
Take steps to protect your property by cleaning gutters and extending down spouts.
