SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Xcel Energy is breaking ground today on a new substation at the old stockyards property near Falls Park.
Xcel Principal Manager Jim Wilcox says the new substation will support growth and enhance electricity service to downtown Sioux Falls.
The ceremony is at the Falls Overlook Café this morning at eleven. Governor Dennis Daugaard, Chairman of the PUC Gary Hanson and Mayor Mike Huether will be on hand to address the crowd.
Xcel Energy is investing $67 million in electricity system upgrades to ensure reliable services for Sioux Falls customers.
