SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Public Works crews are preparing for additional rainfall tonight.
Director Mark Cotter says crews are emptying storm water holding areas and removing debris from sanitary and storm sewer drainage systems.
Cotter says the City is completing a survey of the entire street infrastructer, checking manhole covers, and removing debris that could plug storm sewer inlets. He says to help relieve pressure on both the storm and sanitary sewer systems, pumping continues at several locations across Sioux Falls.
Crews continue cleaning debris from city parks and parts of the bike path remain underwater.
Officials remind folks to stay a safe distance from the river because swift moving water is dangerous.
