Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - On Sunday, June 15th at 5:44 P.M., Sioux Falls Police responded to an injury accident at the intersection of 6th Street and LaSalle. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 2014 Ford Fusion operated by a 13 year old juvenile male had been eastbound on 6th Street and attempted to make a left turn onto LaSalle. While attempting the turn, the operator of the Ford Fusion struck an oncoming westbound 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 37 year old Sioux Falls man who was identified as Jason Alan Rollings.
Initially, the juvenile was released to family and the 37 year old male was transported Sanford Hospital for serious leg injuries, which at the time of the accident were believed to be serious but not life threatening.
Today, the Police Department was updated that Mr. Rollings had developed complications as a result of the accident and passed away during the evening of 06-17-2014.There are criminal charges pending against the 13 year old juvenile including Reckless Driving and No Driver's License. Additional Charges may be added at a later date.
