Lincoln County, SD (KELO AM) - Cleanup from flood ravished Lincoln County continues, as Emergency Manager Harold Timmerman told KELO AM Wednesday night while driving around assessing damage. “In most of the county, we’re still waiting for water to go down to start a damage assessment on some of our public infrastructure” said Timmerman.
Timmerman added that most of the homes in the county have been cleared of water; however in some cases where homes were flooded with sewage special teams had to be brought in to handle the damage. There are still some roads in the county that are under water, and roads that are clear still may pose a danger due to unstable surfaces caused by the water. Timmerman says that it may take another 6-7 months to completely restore the infrastructure in the county.
