PIERRE, S.D. (KELO AM) -- Flood control efforts have resulted in limited releases of water from the Fort Randall Dam near Pickstown and Gavins Point Dam near Yankton and will temporarily affect boating in those areas, said Game, Fish and Parks officials.
"The decrease in the water flow has dropped the river elevations immediately below the dams," said State Park Director Doug Hofer. "Boating in these areas will be difficult until normal releases are resumed."
In the meantime, boaters are asked to be cautious of underwater hazards.
Boating access is still available on Lake Francis Case and Lewis & Clark Lake.
