SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) – Southeast Tech announced today that it has received a $1,500 grant from Xcel Energy to fund three $500.00 educational scholarships for students that have enrolled at Southeast Tech this fall.
“We rely on support from community and corporate partners such as Xcel Energy,” said Chellee Nemec, Institutional Advancement Officer for the Southeast Tech Foundation. “This funding allows us to grant scholarships that make a tremendous difference to students with limited resources. Helping these students complete their education, enter the workforce and strive for self-sufficiency truly changes lives.”
Southeast Tech is South Dakota’s leading technical institute turning out nearly 1,000 graduates every year. As Sioux Falls’ most affordable option, it allows students the ability to earn their degree or diploma in more than 50 career choices in 24 months or less.
Xcel Energy’s grant is part of the company’s corporate giving Education focus area, which supports nonprofit organizations like Southeast Tech that improve science, technology, engineering, economics and math education.
