SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) -The Sioux Falls Visitor and Convention Bureau says a record almost 3,000 visitors came to the Visitor Information Center at Falls Park on June 15th.
Executive Director Teri Schmidt estimates a third of the Park’s total visitors go to the Center meaning close to 9,000 people were at Falls Park that Saturday.
Unfortunately, Schmidt says, the rains that created such hardships for many in the region brought thundering water to Falls Park.
Schmidt says those signing the guestbook came from ten states and two foreign countries.
The previous Center record was 2,800 visitors on July 31, 2010.
