SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls police made two arrests in connection with the armed robbery early Sunday morning of the Crown Casino Two on west 12th Street.
Officer Sam Clemens says 29-year-old Philip Scott Lewis is accused of being the robber and 48-year-old Richard Dukes is accused of casing the casino and driving the getaway car.
Clemens says a casino employee recognized Dukes who had come in just before the robbery to ask if he could cash a check. After he was denied, Dukes left and a robber wearing a blue towel or scarf over his face held up a female clerk at gunpoint.
Clemens says an outdoor surveillance camera captured the getaway car and license plate. Dukes was arrested Monday and Lewis was arrested on Wednesday.
Clemens says both Sioux Falls men are charged with armed robbery.
