SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police arrested two carnival workers from the Sioux Empire Fair who allegedly received crack cocaine mailed to a Sioux Falls motel.

Officer Sam Clemens says Texas authorities tipped police about a package containing a doll with the drugs hidden inside.

Clemens says the package was intercepted,  a controlled delivery was made and 35-year-old Louis Frank Deak, of Lawton, Oklahoma, claimed the package.  When agents stopped him, Deak said he was picking up the package for another man that he owed money to.  Deak said his debt would be forgiven and he did not know what was inside the parcel.

Clemens says the Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force arrested 55-year-old John Thomas Whitfield Junior of Houston, Texas, in his truck on the Fairgrounds.

Deak is charged with distribution of a controlled substance and Whitfield is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
