SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) – The city of Sioux Falls, in collaboration with the South Dakota Department of Transportation, will be switching traffic to allow for the reconstruction of the intersection of 10th Street and Sycamore Avenue on Monday, July 28, at 7 a.m.
Traffic on Sycamore Avenue through the 10th Street intersection will be restored to one lane of traffic in each direction, while traffic on 10th Street will continue to carry one lane of traffic in each direction.
Motorists can expect delays, suddenly slowing and merging traffic, and should be aware of construction equipment and workers adjacent to the driving lane.
The contractor will continue grading, underground utilities, curb and gutter, storm sewer, retaining wall, signals, roadway lighting, pavement marking, permanent signing and concrete pavement work on the west side of Sycamore Avenue.
This work is part of the $2.77 million 10th Street and Sycamore Avenue intersection improvement project.
The prime contractor is T & R Contracting, Inc. of Sioux Falls.
The overall completion date for the project is Oct. 3, 2014.
