SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission today adopted a 2015 provisional budget of just over $72 million.
County Administrator Ken McFarland says that’s almost $3.5 million more than the current budget.
McFarland says the provisional is in line with the current budget and does not allow for new employees, programs or equipment next year. He says most of the increase is supported by a 2.4% increase in property taxes due to new construction.
McFarland says a public hearing on the budget is set for September 2nd with adoption mandated by the end of the month.
