SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM0 - The Sioux Empire Fair opens for the 75th time Friday afternoon at five at the W-H Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls.
Marketing Director Jen Devine says the diamond observance starts with free anniversary cake for the first 2,000 fair-goers. Devine says that will be followed by traditional fair contests including pie eating, a newlywed game and hog calling. You can register prior to the contests.
There’s no admission Friday but Saturday through Sunday its seven dollars for adults and two dollars for kids six to twelve.
All grandstand acts are free with gate admission.
