Rock Rapids, IA (KELO AM) - Two people have been arrested in connection with a reported kidnapping in northwest Iowa.
Craig Allen Olson, age 55 of Canton, SD and Oriana Ti Gropetti, age 32 of Visalia, California have been arrested in connection with an incident that began in Lincoln County, South Dakota on July 21.
The victim was brought to Lyon County, Iowa during the morning hours of July 22 and locked in a grain bin on an abandoned acreage. The victim escaped from the grain bin and was captured by the suspects and taken to a second grain bin location in western Lyon County. The victim again escaped and ran to another acreage where he was able to call 911.
Olson is charged with kidnapping in the 3rd degree.
Groppetti is charged with one count of kidnapping in the 3rd degree (aiding and abetting) and one count of kidnapping in the 3rd degree. She was arrested in California with the aid of the Sioux Falls Area fugitive task force.
The investigation continues and charges are pending against others involved.
