SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls may get more rain in the next 48 hours than it got in the entire month of July.
Meteorologist Todd Heitkamp says the forecast calls for one to two inches of rain tonight and tomorrow in the tri-state area. He says the best chance for heavy rain is late tonight into tomorrow morning.
Heikamp says there's a small threat of flash flooding at intersections or low lying property but most of the rain will come as welcome relief especially for crops. He doesn't anticipate any watches or warnings from the weather.
Sioux Falls total rainfall last month was .80. To date, Sioux Falls precipitation total is 19.50 inches or about 2 3/4 inches above normal. It's 2 inches better than a year.
