SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Sioux Falls City council last night approved a rezoning ordinance changing property at 85th and Minnesota from agriculture to commercial for a Walmart Supercenter.
Opponents say they’re considering referring last night’s action to a public vote.
Mayor Mike Huether says that wouldn’t surprise him. Huether hopes the city is done with the issue. But, Huether says, under God the People Rule and you never know what strategy they'll employ to help them rule.
The council voted seven to one in favor of rezoning. Greg Jamison cast the lone dissenting vote.
Next stop for the project is a conditional use permit.
