Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - The first day of classes for all Sioux Falls public schools received a passing grade, according to spokesman Ben Schumacher. There was some concern with the bus company about staffing, however officer workers and mechanics pitched in and picked up routes to make sure all students were delivered safely to their respective schools.
The other main point of concern was busing to the new McGovern Middle School on the town’s booming northwest side. Schumacher said that went smoothly as well. A few minor glitches included parents who forgot that today was indeed the first day of class.
One major concern was a DUI incident which occurred near the Lowell Elementary school, the driver was going 45 in a 15 MPH zone, thankfully no injuries were reported.
