Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) A deaf and blind man from Norway riding as a passenger on a tandem bike was hit and injured by a car in Sioux Falls on Friday.
71-year-old Harald Vik is apparently a well known role model for people with disabilities in Norway. He was hospitalized with a broken leg and other injuries. The accident happened on Marion Road near Madison Avenue when the bike was struck by a Jeep Liberty, attempting to pass.
Chris Parsley with Falls Area Bicyclists says this is just the latest example of a continuing problem in Sioux Falls. He says the rise in bike collisions means there are "either more bikes on the road or people have gotten really bad at driving."
