SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO AM) – Starting Monday, Aug. 25, the South Dakota Department of Transportation will begin structure repair work and add a second coat of epoxy chip seal on Interstate 29 just north of the 26th Street Interchange at the bridge over Skunk Creek.
The work will begin on the southbound structure with traffic reduced to two lanes through the work zone.
Work on the northbound structure over Skunk Creek will begin on Monday, Sept. 1 with traffic also reduced to two lanes through the work zone.
The speed limit through the construction zones will be reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph.
Motorists should be aware of suddenly slowing, merging and stopped traffic, especially during the morning and evening rush hours, and be aware of construction equipment and workers adjacent to the driving lanes.
The prime contractor for the $400,000 project is BX Civil and Construction of Dell Rapids.
