Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - This Friday is the 3rd annual First Friday Chalk the Walk! 3D sidewalk chalk drawings of Superman, minions and more have been featured the past two years, and this year marks a record high number of featured artists participating: FIVE!
The public is invited to watch these five talented local artists creating beautiful chalk drawings on the sidewalks of downtown Sioux Falls. Artists will work throughout the day on Friday and complete their work by Fridayevening. Chalk drawings will remain available for viewing throughout the weekend.Artists Jason Folkerts and Jaimie Hill will be found at the Federal Courthouse Plaza at 12th & Phillips. Visit Mike Dowling at the Plaza between the Phillips Avenue Diner and the DocuTap Building. Look for Alexandra Hurney across the road in front of the First National Bank in Sioux Falls. Finally, head over to the Eastbank outside of Prairie Berry Winery and Queen City Bakery to see Marc Wagner.
In addition to the featured artists, many stores will leave a bucket of chalk outside their door for anybody to do a whimsical drawing this First Friday.First Friday is a special day of shopping, art and entertainment the First Friday of every month downtown sponsored by First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard.
