Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Police shut down traffic at 14th and Minnesota for reports of a suspicious object Wednesday evening, an event that would hold up traffic for two hours and ended with the neutralization of the device.
The commotion was caused by an object about the size of a 2 liter soda bottle, which was wrapped in a cloth and had wires sticking out of it. Although no explosives were found in the object, the bomb squad was called in to help examine it with the robot and ultimately neutralized with a disrupter. No one was injured in the incident, and traffic was reopened to the area before 8pm.
Sioux Falls Police will release more details during Thursday’s briefing. Multiple reports of two suspicious men in the area also surfaced during the early stages of the incident; however it is unclear if they were involved.
