"Cops, Kids and Karts" Tuesday night in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls police are teaming with “The Banquet” for the Second Annual Cops, Kids and Karts event Tuesday night at Thunder Road.

     Lieutenant Matt Burns says The Banquet will bring underprivileged kids to Thunder Road where they’ll spend a couple hours with officers.

     Burns says the South Dakota Highway Patrol is involved too.  He says the event is important to officers and troopers.  It's gives law enforcement a time to be with children other than when there's an emergency.  Burns says they can also mentor the kids in a fun environment              

     Burns says community partners include Lewis, Dairy Queen, Pizza Ranch and Sioux Falls Metro.
