SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KEL AM) -This is National Health Center Week and Falls Community Health is celebrating its success of keeping their patients and the community healthy.
Public Health Director Jill Franken says health centers provide primary and preventive care to underserved and uninsured residents.
Franken says health centers improve the local economy by reducing health care costs. She says Falls Community Health served over 13,000 patients last year and that number has grown steadily over the past decade. She credits changes at the federal level to recognize the solutions of the community health centers not only in Sioux Falls but across the country.
Franken says Falls Community Health is holding a cancer screening for life Wednesday at the Center on North Main Avenue. There are a limited number of appointments. Call 328-4592 to schedule an appointment.
