Hunhoff calls for subpoenas in EB-5 investigation

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Government Operations and Audit Committee is meeting in Pierre today to learn more about South Dakota government’s involvement in the EB-5 program.

Yankton lawmaker Bernie Hunhoff says written answers from former Governor Mike Rounds and Governor Dennis Daugaard don’t offer much insight into the green card for investment program.

Hunhoffs hopes the committee will recognize that the written answers aren't working and that subpoenas need to be issued.  He says the number of people that lawmakers should interview has expanded now that the Board of Regents had oversight on the EB-5 program.

The Associated Press says the committee is expected to finalize questions to be sent to the former EB-5 head Joop Bollen.
