Noem Named a Hero of Main Street

Sioux Falls S.D. (KELO AM) - Rep. Kristi Noem was recognized as a “Hero of Main Street” by the National Retail Federation.  The award was given during a Sioux Falls roundtable Noem was holding with South Dakota retailers.  During the event, Noem also helped unveil the new “This is Retail” campaign, which features small businesses from across South Dakota.  

“Every small business starts with an idea.  The difference in South Dakota is that there’s an environment where we actively foster those ideas,” said Rep. Noem.  “I’ve worked hard to try to replicate South Dakota’s successful policies on the federal level.  At times, we’ve been successful, but there’s more work to do.  I will not stop fighting for hardworking taxpayers until they get a government that they deserve – one that does more with less and doesn’t put regulations, taxes, or poorly thought out policies between them and their American Dream.”

Created in 2013, the “Hero of Main Street “ award annually recognizes Members of Congress for their support for Main Street priorities.  Noem has been a recipient in both 2013 and 2014.
