Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Monday evening the Sioux Falls Police Department was dispatched to the area of W. 14th St. and S. Minnesota Ave for a weapons violation. An employee from Dakota Adjusters called to report that as he was making contact with a vehicle he had an order to repossess the driver threatened him with a handgun. Sioux Falls police took over the situation and were able to stop the vehicle at W. 28th St. and S. Minnesota Ave.
Officers found 18 year old Justus Zaft and his mother, 52 year old Lesa Zafft in the vehicle along with a loaded handgun, several drug related items, and cash. Following the stop Justus was arrested for aggravated assault, and the pair have been charged with Possession of Control Substance, Possession of Marijuana < 2oz, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession with Intent to Distribute and Ingestion.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
