SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Hunting in South Dakota means fresh air, vigorous exercise and adrenalin but it can also stress an out of shape heart.

Gary Meyers with the American Heart Association says if someone in your party is experiencing a heart attack resist the urge to take them to the hospital yourself.

Meyers says in rural South Dakota hospitals can be hours away and calling 911 to get an ambulance and crew on the road is the best way to get help to the patient.  He says an ambulance is not just a ride to the hospital but the first step in getting a victim's condition stabilized.

Meyers says if you’re out of condition you might feel a little out breath as you’re walking and if it continue or gets worse check with you doctor.
