SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A year-long investigation by the Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force resulted in six arrests and the seizure of over one-and-a-half pounds of methamphetamine yesterday.
Officer Sam Clemens says 30-year-old Malek Samuel Malek is accused of stashing almost 800 grams of meth between two motel rooms and his home on South Summit Avenue.
Clemens says most meth sales in Sioux Falls are for a gram or two. He says this arrest means there will be about 800 fewer meth deals in the city.
Clemens says the warrant focused on Malek's house at 1209 South Summit Avenue where four others were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. They are: 42-year-old Stewart Lee VanMaasdam, 41-yearold Alphonso Vidal White, 54-year-old Frederick Douglas White and 45-year-old Kevin Dushon Edmond.
Malek was arrested in a room at the Super 8 Motel on East Tenth Street along with 30-year-old Ajak Akol Manguak-Awan. Both are charged with possession with intent to distribute.
