SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Fire/Rescue investigators have determined that Wednesday's fatal fire on South Saint Paul Avenue started in the kitchen.
But Fire Marshall Dean Lanier says they haven’t determined how the fire started.
Lanier says when police arrived they opened the front door to get to the female victim. He says indications are that the fire got to a point where it was not in a flaming state prior to the door being opened. Once the front door was opened flames began venting through two windows in the living room. He says that's consistent with fire behavior.
Sioux Falls police identify the victim as 40 year old Jennifer Ann Donaldson.
Donaldson, a mother of four, was alone in the house.
