Chicago, IL (KWSN)– The United States Hockey League today announced the CCM and Reebok player awards for the fourth week of the 2014-15 USHL regular season.

Winners include Fredrik Olofsson of the Chicago Steel, recognized as CCM Forward of the Week; Alec Rauhauser of the Des Moines Buccaneers, chosen as CCM Defenseman of the Week; and Art Brey of the Sioux Falls Stampede, selected as Reebok Goaltender of the Week.

Fredrik Olofsson, F, Chicago Steel: The 18-year-old recorded six points (5g, 1a) as the Steel split a pair of weekend contests.  He netted three goals in Friday’s 4-3 victory over the Bloomington Thunder.  He scored two of his goals in the third period, including the game-winner.  It was the first hat trick of his USHL career.  Olofsson then followed up with two more goals and one assist in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the Muskegon Lumberjacks.  The big weekend has him tied for first overall in the USHL with seven goals through seven games this season and tied for fifth in scoring with nine points (7g, 2a).  His seven goals surpass the six total he scored in 52 games last season.  The forward was a 2014 NHL Draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks and recently made a college hockey commitment to the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Alec Rauhauser, D, Des Moines Buccaneers: The defenseman contributed five points (2g, 3a) as the Buccaneers won three straight road games during the week.  He scored the game-winning goal and dished out two assists in the 5-3 victory against the Omaha Lancers on Tuesday.  It was his second game-winning goal of the season, tying him for first in the USHL.  The 19-year-old dished out an assist in Saturday’s 5-3 win over Team USA before finishing his weekend with a goal in Sunday’s 3-1 victory against Team USA, extending his point streak to four games (2g, 4a).  The Bismarck, North Dakota native leads all USHL defensemen in scoring and is tied for fifth overall in the League with nine points (4g, 5a) through seven games.  His point total already surpasses his total of six points (1g, 5a) he recorded in 35 games last season for the Buccaneers.

Art Brey, G, Sioux Falls Stampede: The Yorba Linda, California native posted a 0.50 goals-against-average and .976 save percentage in leading his team to a pair of weekend victories.  He stopped all 27 shots he faced in Friday’s 1-0 win over the Madison Capitols.  It was the 40th victory and seventh shutout of his USHL career, and it the first win for the Stampede at their brand new home – the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.  He nearly posted another shutout on Saturday as he did not allow a goal through more than 56 minutes of play.  The Fargo Force scored late in the contest, but Brey finished the night with 14 saves in the 4-1 Stampede victory.  Over a three-game span, he recorded a shutout streak that lasted more than 185 minutes of game action.  It was the first two wins of the season for the 20-year-old who currently ranks fourth among USHL goaltenders with a 1.59 GAA.
