SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Colder temperatures mean more space heaters and that’s where a Sioux Falls Fire/Rescue investigation is focused in a small, West 12th Street house fire yesterday afternoon.
The residents were out of the home when firefighters arrived.
Crews found items smoldering and some structure damage near a space heater on the second floor. The fire was controlled in ten minutes.
The home also did not have any working smoke detectors and reminds residents to check smoke detectors regularly and replace batteries annually.
