SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The city is planning to add 500 public parking spaces in a public/private parking ramp development in downtown Sioux Falls.
Community Development Director Darrin Smith says a location hasn’t been picked but he estimates the city’s cost of a ramp with private development to be about ten million dollars.Smith says the city will utilize a Request of Expression of Interest seeking a development to accompany an new public parking ramp in downtown Sioux Falls. Smith says formal letters expressing interest are being accepted now with groundbreaking expected next year.
He says 85% of public parking dowtown is currently leased, a significant increase from 50% leased less than three years ago.
