SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - AARP just released results of a survey detailing American’s preparedness to get behind the wheel.
Julie Lee with AARP Driver Safety says drivers of all ages feel that they and their cars are prepared for long distance trips.98% of drivers age 30 and older feel prepared before taking a trip, however they tend to focus more on preparing their car than planning their routes.
Lee says drivers 65 and up are more likely to consider weather, traffic congestion, establish stops on the route and nighttime versus daytime driving.
85% of respondents felt that having a first aid kit in the car is important but only 60% typically have one in their auto
1,200 drivers’ ages thirty on up took part in the survey
