SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police say a Sioux Falls man suffered a head wound when a suspect hit him with a pistol during an attempted robbery.
Captain Greg VandeKamp says the 43 year old victim befriended a woman Wednesday and she returned to his South Sycamore apartment early Thursday morning saying she left something in his car.
When they went to the victim’s car, a man with a handgun approached and demanded his money. VandeKamp says the vicitm refused and grabbed the handgun. The suspect hit the man in the head with the pistol and fled the scene without getting any of the victim's money. The woman also left the scene.
VandeKamp says the suspect and the female fled and victim was treated and released.
The victim could give police only the woman’s first name.
