SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - In observance of Earth Day, Tuesday, April 22, Nordstroms Auto Recycling will take unsafe products from vehicles free of charge.

Shannon Nordstrom says they recycle these products every day.  Batteries, car and pickup tires, oil or anti-freeze.

Nordstrom says the offer is open to households and individual quantities only, not businesses or heavy-duty farm tires.

He says 86% of each vehicle can be recycled.  That's about 6 million tires, 100 million gallons of gas and diesel fuel, 24 million gallons of motor oil, 8 million gallons of engine coolant and 4.5 million gallons of windshield wiper fluid annually.

Nordstroms will also offer free admission to the Ewe Pullet self-service facility from the 20th to the 26th
