SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - After yesterday’s vote, the Sioux Falls School District will start classes after Labor Day for the next three years.

Board President Kent Alberty broke the news to the District’s incoming Superintendent Brian Maher. Alberty says Maher told him they'll face every challenge that comes before the Board.

The Sioux Falls School Board tomorrow officially sets the start date for this fall's classes on September 8th.

Board President Kent Alberty says there will be a calendar review committee of three parents and two Board members.  One parent will come from an elementary, middle and high school student. He says the committee will have to tweak the entire calendar not just the start date.

Superintendent Brian Maher will start July first
