Sioux Falls private schools stand pat

Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Private schools in Sioux Falls will stick with their August start dates despite the switch of the public schools to September 8th.

City voters on Tuesday narrowly rejected what the Sioux Falls School board wanted and approved a start date after Labor Day.

Both Sioux Falls Catholic Schools Director of Instruction Joan Mahoney and Sioux Falls Christian Schools Superintendent Jay Woudstra say their start dates for the coming school year are already set and won't change, but both also say they will seek input from parents about what they want for future school years in light of the change in the public school start date..
