SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Minnehaha County Commission today lifted the burn ban.
Emergency Management Director Lynn DeYoung says there has been a green-up and rain is in the forecast this week.
DeYoung admits we're in a moderate drought, but fire officials recognize the importance of allowing farmers and ranchers to burn off material and for other outdoor uses that the county has. He says the burn ban can be reinstated if conditions worsen.
DeYoung advises residents to call metro communication before burning and give them a heads-up.
