Dell Rapids man accused of ramming Sioux Police car

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - A Dell Rapids man is charged with aggravated assault for ramming his car into a Sioux Falls Police cruiser last night.

Officer Sam Clemens says police stopped 35-year-old James Dean Dubro on South Marion Road.

Clemens says Dubro is accused of putting his car into reverse and hitting the cruiser.  And, Clemens says, he tried accelerating in an effort to push the squad car out of the way.  Dubro again hit the police cruiser as he drove off.  

The chase eventually got to higher speeds and the officer quit the pursuit but he did get the license plate number             

Dubro was arrested early this morning by sheriff’s deputies at his Dell Rapids home.
