SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The South Dakota Supreme Court unanimously ruled that Attorney General Marty Jackley followed the State’s disclosure law relating to the Richard Benda death investigation.
Jackley says he’s pleased the Court recognized the balancing of open transparency with the private interests of the Benda family.
Jackley says he will not seek costs from the plaintiff in the case to avoid any effect on open transparency.
He remains disappointed in the federal government’s handling of the matter. Jackley is concerned about political motivation on the part of Justice’s Public Integrity Section.
