Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) High school graduation in the Sioux Falls School District gets bigger every year.

District Spokeswoman DeeAnn Konrad says that more than 1,600 graduates will get their diplomas this Sunday, May 17, at the Sioux Falls Arena. 10 years ago, about 1,300 students walked down the aisle. Last year, she says, about 1,500 students graduated. Konrad expects graduation day to get bigger and bigger each year as Sioux Falls keeps growing.

All four District high schools will have separate ceremonies one right after the other, beginning at 11 a.m. Konrad says they have the graduations down to a science or they wouldn't be able to get them all in in one day.

Selected students from each school will speak.  Sioux Falls Schools Superintendent Pam Homan will deliver brief remarks - for the last time. Homan is leaving the school system this year.

There are no tickets required for the graduations, but you don't have to be there to watch. The ceremonies will be live streamed on the district website at: www.sf.k12.sd.us
