SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO-AM) – A high speed chase early Sunday morning has left a motorcyclist with serious injuries. The chase started on the west side of Sioux Falls, where police were attempting to pull over the cycle’s rider. The chase headed west and included both Highway Patrol and Sheriff’s deputies. Speeds of up to 100 miles per hour were reported in the apprehension, which came to an abrupt end when the rider missed a curve near Humboldt.
The rider was reportedly airlifted to a local hospital, the full extent of the riders injuries are unknown. High speed chases have been under review by area law enforcement agencies recently, as several deaths have been the end result.
