SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Dakota Power Community Wind seek approval today from the Lincoln County Planning Commission for five weather towers to measure the wind.
Nick Sershner of Val-Add Service, a backer of a large wind farm around Beresford and Canton, says the power would go to eastern states.
Sershner says they’re re-applying for a temporary use permit. Planners told the operation that a temporary conditional use permit is needed. The Commission earlier voted against a permanent conditional use permit.
Sershner compares the electricity eventually produced by the wind farm as any other commodity like soybeans and corn.
