SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - As the summer unofficially opens this Memorial Day weekend so too begins the traditional drop-off of blood donors to the Community Blood Bank.
Executive Director Ken Versteeg says donors are busy in the summer. He says people that donate at a community blood drive, just before a major holiday, impact the blood supply in a very special way by keeping the supply at adquate levels.
Versteeg says KRRO radio will celebrate their 1,000th blood donation to Community Blood Bank at Friday's drive. He says through KRRO radio's support and encouragement, up to 3,000 lives have been saved.
The “Blood Donors Rock Spring Blood Drive” is Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at HuHot on Western and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sheels at 41st and Western.
