Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Authorities are investigating the cause of a playground fire at Hawthorne Elementary Saturday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to the scene about 4:15 Saturday afternoon. On arrival, they found playground equipment and landscape material on fire close to the school building.
The playground equipment is a total loss. The building suffered minor heat damage.
