Sioux Falls, SD (KWSN) - The Sioux Falls City Council has given the green light to a pilot project that allows youth in the city free access to public transportation.
The program has been fast tracked following unanimous approval by councilors. Details do need to be ironed out, including refunds for youth that have already purchased a summer bus pass. Others wondered how the program would be structured, saying it should be put on hold while those details are set in stone. However, council member Greg Jameson responded by saying it’s only a pilot program, not brain surgery.
The program has a target start date of June 19th.
