Another setback for Hartford area dairy

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Another delay, this time three weeks, in the appeal of a planned 600 animal dairy southwest of Hartford.

Minnehaha County Commissioner Dick Kelly advised farmer Kyle Albers to spend more time with county planners and finalize plans according to statutes.

Kelly says, to some extent, the planning department has to help the applicant because planners know all the laws on the books.  "Reams of 'em." Kelly says, and adds that commissioners can't expect individuals to know all those laws.

Albers plans building an over $4 million dairy but the planning commission’s approval is being appealed.
