SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Senator John Thune introduced the Clean Air, Strong Economies Act which he says balances economic growth and the environment.
Thune says the bipartisan bill requires the E-P-A to focus on areas that don’t meet current smog standards.
He says the effort should be in those areas, like Los Angeles, where the current standard is not being met. He says lowering the standard only penalizes places like the great plains where smog is not a problem.
Thune says E-P-A’s proposed lower smog standards means higher costs on the economy and workforce.
